Day Trip to Antietam National Battlefield in Sharpsburg, MD

Antietam National Battlefield is a National Park Service protected area along Antietam Creek in Sharpsburg, Washington County, northwestern Maryland. It commemorates the American Civil War Battle of Antietam, also known as the Battle of Sharpsbug, that occurred on September 17, 1862. It is the bloodiest single-day battle in American history, with a combined tally of dead, wounded, and missing at almost 23,000.

New Art Exhibit features local artist Jodie Schmidt, opens this Friday, October 17th and runs through to Thanksgiving.  The exhibit hall is located outside the Catoctin Courtyard Cafe at Country Meadows of Frederick.
