Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR) offers Fall Courses at Country Meadows of Frederick
Tales for the Grandchildren: Writing Your Life Story
ILR’s longest running course returns this fall with the same,
unique format, but this term, offers your choice of a morning
or afternoon class. Weekly handouts and discussion guide you
in writing your family history, recording its unique culture,
folklore and values for future generations. By preserving both
personal and family stories, you can provide a good sense of
self-identification and belonging to those who come after you.
Whether you are a beginning or an experienced writer, you will
profit from class discussions as you write at least seven stories
during the seven sessions of the class. Course is limited to 12
participants, so register early.
Facilitator:
Dottie O’Neal was hand-picked by the creatorand long-time teacher of this course, Shirley Sandage, as the
facilitator of one of ILR’s most popular courses. She was a student
of Shirley’s in this course for many years and continues to write
her own life story. Dottie also teaches ILR’s genealogy courses.Wednesday, July 9, 2014
